TOPIC: TALK LESS 1
MEMORISE: A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself. Proverbs 18:2
READ: PROVERBS 21:23
Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
MESSAGE
The saying, ’empty barrels make the loudest noise,’ has been proven over time to be true.
If you are talkative, there is a possibility that you will miss out on important information during conversations.
Don’t be known as that fellow who acts like a know-it-all; rather, you should spend more time listening when you are in conversations with other people.
They may just be saying things that you do not know and that you need to learn.
Also, whenever you are making your requests to God in prayer, keep quiet at intervals to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit.
Don’t just rush out of God’s presence when you are done making your numerous requests.
God often has things to tell His children, but if we don’t listen, we will miss out on vital information that will help deliver God’s answers to our prayers.
Beloved, you have more to gain when you talk less and listen more.
REFLECTION
Do you often interrupt people during conversations?
HYMN 9 – DEEPER, DEEPER IN THE LOVE OF JESUS
- Deeper, deeper in the love of Jesus
Daily let me go;
Higher, higher in the school of wisdom,
More of grace to know.
CHORUS
O deeper yet I pray,
And higher ev’ry day,
And wiser, blessed, Lord,
In Thy precious, holy word.
- Deeper, deeper! blessed Holy Spirit,
Take me deeper still,
Till my life is wholly lost in Jesus
And His perfect will. - Deeper, deeper! tho’ it cost hard trials,
Deeper let me go!
Rooted in the holy love of Jesus,
Let me fruitful grow. - Deeper, higher ev’ry day in Jesus,
Till all conflict past,
Finds me conqueror, and in His own image
Perfected at last.
