Title: Holiness is easy
Memorize: but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct 1 Peter 1:15 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: 1 Peter 1:13-16 (Nkjv)
[13] Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
[14] as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;
[15] but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,
[16] because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.”
Message:
Many Christians think that it is very difficult and near impossible to live holy. On the contrary, it is very possible. The Bible says in verse 15 of today’s Bible reading that you must be holy in all manner of conversations – not some, but ALL.
God who made you knows that you can live holy; otherwise, He would not have included this instruction in the Bible. A life of holiness is a life of total devotion and obedience to God.
One of the most important callings that God puts in the hearts of Christians is the call to be holy. As a Christian, you must live your life in contrast to what the world believes is good. To be holy, you must fix your gaze on heavenly things and not be distracted by the pleasures of life. Your thoughts must be holy because every action begins with a thought. Also, be watchful and stay alert so that you can stand when you are tempted. You can be holy as your heavenly Father is.
Key Point:
It is easy to live a holy life when your gaze is on heavenly things.
Hymn 47 – Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty
1 Holy, Holy, Holy,
Lord God Almighty!
Early In The Morning
Our Song Shall Rise To Thee;
Holy, Holy, Holy,
Merciful And Mighty!
God In Three Persons,
Blessed Trinity!
2 Holy, Holy, Holy,
All The Saints Adore Thee,
Casting Down Their Golden Crowns
Around The Glassy Sea;
Cherubim And Seraphim
Falling Down Before Thee,
Which Wert And Art
And Evermore Shalt Be.
3 Holy, Holy, Holy,
Though The Darkness Hide Thee,
Though The Eye Of Sinful Man
Thy Glory May Not See,
Only Thou Art Holy;
There Is None Beside Thee,
Perfect In Power, In Love,
And Purity.
4 Holy, Holy, Holy,
Lord God Almighty!
All Thy Works Shall Praise
Thy Name, In Earth And Sky, And Sea;
Holy, Holy, Holy! Merciful And Mighty!
God In Three Persons,
Blessed Trinity.
