Title: Hang The Baggage
MEMORIZE: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7
BIBLE READING MATTHEW 11:28-30
[28]Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[29]Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
[30]For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
MESSAGE:
I want you to know that the emotional issues you encounter sometimes are a true test of your faith in God. Many people go about with emotional issues from hurts and disappointments that weigh them down and hinder them from pursuing their goals in life.
When you allow yourself to get overwhelmed by these issues, you will find it difficult to forgive and let go. Has someone cheated, maltreated, or verbally abused you, and you’re begrudging him or her? I appeal to you to let go today.
Apostle Paul gave a salient point on how to deal with the baggage in our lives.”But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,” Philippians 3:13
Learn from Joseph, who forgave his brothers (Genesis 50:15-21). Leave the wrong that was done against you in the past: stop thinking or telling stories about them. Hang your bag of hurts on Jesus today and ask Him to heal you.
KEY POINT
Jesus is the burden bearer, hand Him your burdens of hurt.
HYMN 5 – TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE
- Take my life and let it
Consecrated Lord to Thee
Take my moment and my days
Let them flow ceaseless praise. - Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for thee - Take my voice and let me sing
Always only for my king;
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee. - Take my sliver and my gold
Not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect, and use
Every power as thou shalt choose. - Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall no longer mine:
Take my heart, it is Thine own;
It shall be Thy royal throne, - Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store;
Take myself, and I will be
Ever, only, all for thee
