Title: Focus On Your Lane
Memorize: But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. Matthew 24:36 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (Nkjv)
[1] But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
[2] For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
[3] unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good,
[4] traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
[5] having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
Message:
Today’s Bible reading details the events that will happen in the last days, where people will be consumed by their own desires and will turn away from God.
As a child of God, I enjoin you not to be swayed by the pleasures of the world.
It’s easy to get carried away by the pain or glories of our day-to-day living.
However, Jesus has warned us ahead to ignore all distractions and focus on His return.
Imagine that you and a few athletes are competing in a race; wisdom requires that you get on the track and focus on your lane.
As you start the race, you are expected to gather momentum and stabilise your pace until you reach the finish line.
This is exactly the same way you need to be focused on your walk with God so that you will be ready when Jesus returns.
No one can predict when Jesus will return, but living a consistent life of obedience and devotion to Him will keep you prepared.
Beloved, be vigilant and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in all you do.
Key Point:
Shun distractions.
HYMN 4 – JESUS, MY LORD, MY GOD, MY ALL
1. Jesus, My Lord, My God, My All,
Hear Me, Blest Saviour, When I Call;
Hear Me, And From Thy Dwelling Place
Pour Down The Riches Of Thy Grace;
Refrain:
Jesus, My Lord, I Thee Adore;
Oh Make Me Love Thee More And More.
2. Jesus, Too Late I Thee Have Sought;
How Can I Love Thee As I Ought?
And How Extol Thy Matchless Fame,
The Glorious Beauty Of Thy Name? [Refrain]
3. Jesus, What Didst Thou Find In Me,
That Thou Hast Dealt So Lovingly?
How Great The Joy That Thou Hast Brought
So Far Exceeding Hope Or Thought! [Refrain]
4. Jesus, Of Thee Shall Be My Song,
To Thee My Heart And Soul Belong;
All That I Have Or Am Is Thine,
And Thou, Blest Saviour, Thou Art Mine. [Refrain]
