Topic: Who’s In Charge
MEMORISE: Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. Revelation 3:19
READ: Revelation 3:19-20
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
MESSAGE
Before I gave my life to Christ, my wife had three children by Caesarean Section, but after my conversion, she miraculously gave birth to two of our sons through normal delivery. At a time, one of them became sick, and I prayed, fasted, held vigils, made vows, et cetera, for him to be healed. After a while, I asked God why He would not heal my son, and He told me it was because the boy was mine. I got the message, changed my prayers, and genuinely prayed, “Father, please heal Your son.” To my surprise, the boy recovered within an hour.
God is in charge of the lives of His children; however, you must surrender to His authority before He can fully be in charge. Stop worrying about the things that God is already in charge of. Any area that God is allowed to control is protected by divine insurance, but areas that are kept from Him become a target for the enemy.
Beloved, never love the gift more than the Giver. In order words, don’t love the things that God has blessed you with more than Him.
REFLECTION:
Who is in charge of your life?
HYMN 58: My Hope Is Built On Nothing Else
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.
When darkness seems to veils His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil. [Refrain]
His oath, His covenant, and blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay. [Refrain]
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne. [Refrain]
