TOPIC: Understand Your Body
MEMORISE: But meat commend us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse. 1 Corinthians 8:8
READ: 1 Timothy 4:1-5
Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
MESSAGE:
“All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.” 1 Corinthians 10:23
From the text above, it is safe to say that you are free to eat anything you like, but it is not advisable to eat what will not make you grow. As a child of God, you should eat healthily. If you fall ill often, check your diet. Be careful of what you eat as some foods are not good for your body. For example, foods with excess oil, carbohydrates, sugar, et cetera. Ensure you eat a balanced diet so as not to trigger sicknesses. Also, drink enough water because it aids digestion.
God wants you to be healthy so that you can live long and do exploits for Him. Ensure that you take good care of your body and only eat foods that would be beneficial to your health in the right proportions.
KEY POINT
Watch what you eat.
HYMN 43: Lead Us Heavenly Father, Lead Us
Lead Us, Heavenly Father, Lead Us
O’er The World’s Tempestuous Sea;
Guard Us, Guide Us, Keep Us, Feed Us,
For We Have No Help But Thee,
Yet Possessing Every Blessing
If Our God Our Father Be.
Saviour, Breathe Forgiveness O’er Us;
All Our Weakness Thou Dost Know;
Thou Didst Tread This Earth Before Us,
Thou Didst Feel Its Keenest Woe;
Lone And Dreary, Faint And Weary,
Through The Desert Thou Didst Go.
Spirit Of Our God, Descending,
Fill Our Hearts With Heavenly Joy,
Love With Every Passion Blending,
Pleasure That Can Never Cloy;
Thus Provided, Pardoned, Guided,
Nothing Can Our Peace Destroy.
