Title: Look At Jesus II
Memorize: They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed. Psalm 34:5 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Genesis 30:37-39 (Nkjv)
[37] Now Jacob took for himself rods of green poplar and of the almond and chestnut trees, peeled white strips in them, and exposed the white which was in the rods.
[38] And the rods which he had peeled, he set before the flocks in the gutters, in the watering troughs where the flocks came to drink, so that they should conceive when they came to drink.
[39] So the flocks conceived before the rods, and the flocks brought forth streaked, speckled, and spotted.
Message:
Many people don’t understand that images and pictures are powerful communication tools that shape actions and behaviors. I was a sportsman when I was much younger, and I had some role models in different sporting activities. I read about them and got to know more about them. Usually, I would cut out their pictures from newspapers and paste them on my walls while imagining how I would emerge victorious in my sports competitions. Gradually, I gained momentum and started achieving their results. I led my team at various school competitions, and we emerged victorious.
My dear child, choose what you focus on very carefully. Just like the animals who produced after their kind when they looked at Jacob’s speckled rod in today’s Bible reading, you would also produce the kind of things you are constantly looking at. This year, let your actions be in line with God’s will so that you can produce good fruits.
Action Point:
Look for pictures that depict your goals for the year and paste them on your walls.
Hymn 60 – Most Ancient Of All Mysteries
1 Most ancient of all mysteries,
Before Thy throne we lie;
Have mercy now, most merciful,
Most holy Trinity.
2 When heav’n and earth were yet unmade,
When time was yet unknown,
Thou in Thy bliss and majesty
Didst live and love alone.
3 Thou wert not born; there was no fount
From which Thy Being flowed;
There is no end which Thou canst reach;
But Thou art simply God.
4 How wonderful creation is,
The work which Thou didst bless,
And O what then must Thou be like,
Eternal loveliness!
5 O listen then, most pitiful,
To Thy poor creature’s heart:
It blesses Thee that Thou art God,
That Thou art what Thou art.
6 Most ancient of all mysteries,
Still at thy throne we lie;
Have mercy now, most merciful,
Most holy Trinity.
