Title: Work Doesn’t Kill
Memorize: Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty; Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with bread. Proverbs 20:13 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Proverbs 20:4-13 (Nkjv)
[4] The lazy man will not plow because of winter; He will beg during harvest and have nothing.
[5] Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water, But a man of understanding will draw it out.
[6] Most men will proclaim each his own goodness, But who can find a faithful man?
[7] The righteous man walks in his integrity; His children are blessed after him.
[8] A king who sits on the throne of judgment Scatters all evil with his eyes.
[9] Who can say, “I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin”?
[10] Diverse weights and diverse measures, They are both alike, an abomination to the Lord.
[11] Even a child is known by his deeds, Whether what he does is pure and right.
[12] The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The Lord has made them both.
[13] Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty; Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with bread.
Message:
Laziness is like a leech; once it gets attached to its host, it feeds on the person and robs him or her of some nutrients.
If you allow laziness into your life, it will rob you of success, progress, wealth, and many opportunities.
Poverty, lack, failure, and stagnancy will become the friend of anyone who is lazy.
In Genesis 1, we see God at work; He worked for six days before resting on the seventh.
If you want to be like your heavenly Father, you must work.
You must be diligent and hardworking because those are the solutions to laziness.
Many people wonder why I still go about for RCCG’s Light Up crusades.
Some people have approached me to tell me to retire because l am getting old.
Well, I’m not getting younger, but I can’t stop working; I can’t entertain laziness.
I will keep working until God calls me home.
My dear child, no amount of prayer or deliverance sessions can save a lazy person.
In other words, prayer is not the solution to laziness; it is hard work and diligence.
Key Point:
Prayer will not do for you what hard work can.
HYMN 12 – ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS
1 Onward, Christian Soldiers, marching as to War,
With the cross of Jesus going on before!
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
Forward into battle, see his banner go!
Refrain:
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of JesUs going on before!
2 At the name of Jesus Satan’s host doth flee;
On, then, Christian soldiers, on to victory!
Hell’s foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
Brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise!
3 Like a mighty army moves the church of God:
Brothers, we are treading, where the saints have trod;
We are not divided; all one body we,
One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.
4 Crowns and thrones may perish, Kingdoms rise and wane;
But the church Jesus constant will remain:
Gates of hell can never ‘gainst that church prevail
We have Christ’s own promise and that cannot fail
5 0nward, then, ye people, join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices, in the triumph song;
Glory, praise and honour, unto Christ the King;
This through countless ages, men and angels sing.
