TOPIC: Break Off That Relationship
MEMORISE: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will | hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. – 2 Chronicles 7:14
BIBLE READING: 2 Timothy 2:4

MESSAGE:
Being emotionally attached to the opposite sex is one of the realities of most teenagers, and it is evidence that they are normal human beings. However, it is important to set healthy boundaries between yourself and members of the opposite sex so that you can save yourself from a lot of heartache and pain – this is being emotionally intelligent.
If you realise that you have overstepped the healthy boundaries in a relationship and are engaging in any form of romantic activity with someone of the opposite sex, there is fire on the mountain, and for that fire not to consume you, you need to break off the relationship immediately.
If you are struggling with the thought of separating yourself from a boy or girl who makes your emotions go haywire, kindly talk to a trusted counsellor who will give you practical steps to freedom. Some of your friends might advise you to follow your heart; however, your heart may lead you to destruction (Proverbs 14:12). Therefore, it is important that you break off from such relationships and get help from the right place.
KEY POINT:
Set healthy boundaries in your relationships with the opposite s3x.
HYMN: 33 – Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah!
1 Guide me, O Thou Great Jehovah!
Pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but Thou art mighty,
Hold me with Thy powerful hand:
Bread of heaven! Bread of heaven!
Feed me now and evermore,
Feed me now and evermore.
2 Open Thou the crystal fountain,
Whence the healing stream doth flow:
Let the fiery, cloudy pillar,
Lead me all my journey through:
Strong deliverer! Strong deliverer!
Be Thou still my strength and shield,
Be Thou still my strength and shield.
3 If I tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid my anxious fears subside:
Bear me through the swelling torrent,
Land me safe on Canaan’s side:
Songs of praises! Song of praises!
I will ever give to Thee,
I will ever give to Thee.
4 Saviour, come! we long to see Thee,
Long to dwell with Thee above;
And to know in full communion,
All the sweetness of Thy love,
Come, Lord Jesus! Come Lord Jesus!
Take Thy waiting people home,
Take Thy waiting people home.
