Title: Ceremonial Christian
Memorize: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Matthew 7:21 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Matthew 7:21-23 (Nkjv)
[21] “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
[22] Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’
[23] And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
Message:
Would it not be such a disappointment to have done so much for God, and then on the last day, when you expect to receive a crown, He says, “I never knew you”?
My dear child, you really need to be sure that you have a relationship with Jesus while you are here on earth.
You need to check thoroughly if your faith is truly from your heart and not just to deceive the public.
The fact that you call yourself a believer or firebrand is not enough because 2 Corinthians 10:18 says: “For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.” It is not about what you call yourself but what God calls you.
It is important not to get carried away by mere religious activity but rather pay attention to bearing the fruit of the Spirit.
Conduct a self-check today: is your lifestyle in line with God’s word?
Are you genuinely studying your Bible daily, praying in tongues, fasting, and evangelising for the purpose of God’s kingdom, or are you only doing these things to show that you are a spiritual person?
Please note that no ‘ceremonial Christian’ will make it to heaven.
Prayer Point:
Lord Jesus, let my relationship with You remain genuine, and let everything I do be inspired by the Holy Spirit.
HYMN 55: CHRISTIAN, SEEK NOT YET REPOSE
1 Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose;
Hear Thy Guardian Angel Say,
“Thou Art In The Midst Of Foes:
Watch And Pray!”
2 Principalities And Powers,
Mustering Their Unseen Array,
Wait For Thy Unguarded Hours:
“Watch And Pray.”
3 Gird Thy Heavenly Armour On;
Wear It Every Night And Day
Ambush’d Lies The Evil One:
“Watch And Pray.”
4 Hear The Victors Who O’ercame;
Still They Mark Each Warrior’s Way;
All With One Sweet Voice Exclaim,
“Watch And Pray!”
5 Hear, Above AlI, Hear Thy Lord,
Him Thou Lovest To Obey;
Hide Within Thy Heart His Word:
“Watch And Pray!.”
6 Watch, As If On That Alone
Hung The Issue Of The Day;
Pray, That Help May Be Sent Down:
Watch And Pray.
