Topic: No Work, No Encounter
MEMORISE: As a door turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed. Proverbs 26:14
BIBLE READING: Proverbs 26:14-15
As a door turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed.
15 A sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth.
MESSAGE:
In Exodus 3:1-4, Moses encountered God while tending to his father-in-law’s flock. Also, in Judges 6:11-24, Gideon was busy threshing wheat at a hidden winepress when an angel visited him, and his divine assignment was commissioned. Paul was busy persecuting the church when God called him. Likewise, all of Jesus’ disciples were busy doing one thing or the other when He called them. This proves a point: God has no business with a lazy fellow.
If you read through the Bible, you will find out that everyone who encountered God played their part by being diligent. This means that if you want a turn around in any aspect of your life, you have to work hard. If you want to excel in your studies, for example, you must read your notes and textbooks every day. Also, if you want to grow spiritually, you must first have an encounter with God. To do this, you must hunger and thirst after Him by fasting and praying regularly and spending quality time in His word. Laziness is not allowed in the kingdom of God.Christian lifestyle products

HYMN: What A Friend We Have In Jesus
1 What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!Christian lifestyle products
2 Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
3 Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there
