Title: He Knows What’s Best For You
Memorize: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Isaiah 55:8-9 (Nkjv)
[8] “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
[9] “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
Message:
Many years ago, I had a beautiful ambition – to become the youngest Vice Chancellor in Africa.
I had mapped out my plans carefully, and I was on track when I got my Ph.D. until God interrupted my plans and showed me His will for my life.
I struggled with it for a while, but I later gave in, and here I am today. Do I have any regrets? Absolutely not!
My dear child, God knows what is best for you. Today’s memory verse establishes that God has planned a glorious destiny for you, and He knows the end from the beginning.
As a teenager, you may not know or comprehend what is best for your life.
You may not even know what possibilities the future holds for you or how each decision you make will impact those possibilities, but God does.
If I were you, I would get closer to Him so that He would order my steps in His will.
I want you to trust God and follow His will as I did many years ago when He asked me to let go of my ambition and follow Him.
If you do this, you will no longer have to worry about whether things will work out or not.
He has promised in His word to give you an expected end, which will be beautiful and glorious.
Key Point:
God has arranged a beautiful and glorious destiny for you, but you must follow Him wholeheartedly.
HYMN 64: WHEN UPON LIFE’S BILLOWS YOU ARE TEMPEST TOSSED
1 When upon life’s billows you
are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged,
thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings,
name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what
the Lord hath done.
Chorus:
Count your blessings,
name them one by one;
Count your blessings,
see what God hath done;
Count your blessings,
name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
2 Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, ev’ry doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.
3 When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised
you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings, money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
4 So, amid the conflict,
whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
