Title: Learn How To Give
Memorize: Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: John 3:16 (Nkjv)
[16] For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Message:
Giving is one of God’s character traits, and we must imbibe it as His children. When you give, you act as your heavenly Father, who freely gives people on earth many blessings -the gift of life, good health, salvation, provision, security, sound memory, functioning body parts, et cetera.
I have noticed that many teenagers always want to be the ones receiving gifts, but they don’t usually like giving them out. They keep asking to get whatever they need while they make no effort to give at all, forgetting that those who give will always receive. In the past, when we were still struggling as a family to meet our needs, my wife would often give out the little food items we had to others or our breakfast portion to some of the kids around us.
Today, we can freely give because we learnt how to give when we were not even comfortable at all. My dear child, start practicing how to give from now on so that you can imbibe God’s nature of giving.
Action Point:
When next you want to celebrate someone on his or her birthday, do so with a gift.
Hymn 30: When We Walk With The Lord
1 When we walk with the Lord
in the light of his word,
what a glory he sheds on our way!
While we do his good will,
he abides with us still,
and with all who will trust and obey.
Refrain:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.
2 Not a burden we bear,
not a sorrow we share,
but our toil he doth richly repay;
not a grief or a loss,
not a frown or a cross,
but is blest if we trust and obey.
3 But we never can prove
the delights of his love
until all on the altar we lay;
for the favor he shows,
for the joy he bestows,
are for them who will trust and obey.
4 Then in fellowship sweet
we will sit at his feet,
or we’ll walk by his side in the way;
what he says we will do,
where he sends we will go;
never fear, only trust and obey.
