TOPIC: Be A Volunteer
MEMORISE: Whatsoever thy hand find to do, do it with thy might… Ecclesiastes 9:10
BIBLE READING: Colossians 3:23
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
MESSAGE:
There is more to learning than listening to teachers or lecturers speak in a formal environment. Extra knowledge can be gained by participating in or actively watching the practical aspects of what you are currently studying in school through internships.
Serving, volunteering, or undergoing an internship in your chosen field is the best way to gather experience and develop expertise before completing your school education. Many graduates are jobless today because employers are looking for experienced applicants.
Rather than stay at home during the holidays, binging on movies or visiting friends that may lead you into social vices, add value to your life by volunteering to serve in an organisation. My dear child, serve in church programmes, attend conferences, or organise workshops where you can speak with children or teach them crafts. The experiences you will gather will give you an edge later in life.
ACTION POINT:
Identify five organisations in your field that you can intern with during the next holiday.
HYMN 63 – O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing
1 O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer’s praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of his grace!God-themed merchandise
2 My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim,
To spread thro’ all the earth abroad
The honours of your name.
3 Jesus! the name that charms our fears,
that bids our sorrows cease,
‘Tis music in the sinner’s ears,
‘Tis life and health and peace.
4 He breaks the power of cancelled sin,
He sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean;
His blood availed for me.God-themed merchandise
5 Hear Him, ye dear, His praise, ye dumb,
Your loosened tongues employ
Ye blind behold your Saviour Come;
And leap, ye lame, for joy.
