Title: Mary Sang
Memorize: And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. Luke 1:46-47 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (Nkjv)
[18] in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Message:
Mary was chosen by God, among many other virgins in Israel at the time, to be the mother of Jesus.
When Angel Gabriel appeared to her to inform her of her divine assignment of birthing the Saviour of the world, he said that she was “blessed and highly favored”.
Other ladies may have vehemently refused the angel’s word, not wanting to be mocked for prostitution, but Mary submitted to God’s will.
She then sang a beautiful song of worship and prophecy in her prayers, showing her deep faith and understanding of God’s plan.
Are you serving God and obeying his word wholeheartedly, and yet you face a lot of mockery and persecution?
My dear child, I want you to be encouraged like Mary that what God is building within you is a solution to the problem of the world.
You should be like Mary, who sang to God instead of complaining when some situations she did not fully understand happened to her.
Give God praise because all things will work together for your good eventually.
Key Point:
Give thanks to God in everything.
HYMN 16: PRAISE HIM, PRAISE HIM JESUS OUR BLESSED REDEEMER
1 Praise Him! praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Sing, O earth, His wonderful love proclaim!
Hail Him, hail Him! Highest angels in glory!
Strength and honor give to His holy name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard his children.
In His arms He carries them all day long.
O ye saints that dwell on the mountain of zion
Praise Him! praise Him!
Ever in joyful song!
2 Praise Him! praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer,
For our sins He suffered and bled and died;
He, our Rock, our Hope of eternal salvation,
Hail Him! hail Him! Jesus, the Crucified;
Loving Savior, meekly enduring sorrow,
Crowned with thorns that cruelly pierced His brow;
Once for us rejected, despised, and forsaken,
Prince of Glory, ever triumphant now.
3 Praise Him! praise Him!
Jesus, our blessed Redeemer,
Heav’nly portals, loud with hosannas ring!
Jesus, Savior, reigneth for ever and ever;
Crown Him! crown Him! Prophet and Priest and King!
Death is vanquished! Tell it with joy, ye faithful,
Where is now thy victory, boasting grave?
Jesus lives! No longer thy portals are cheerless;
Jesus lives, the mighty and strong to save.
