Title: The Resurrection And The Life
Memorize: She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”John 11:27 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: John 11:21-27 (Nkjv)
[21] Now Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.
[22] But even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.”
[23] Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
[24] Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
[25] Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.
[26] And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
[27] She said to Him, “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”
Message:
The moment Lazarus fell ill, Martha and her sister sent for Jesus, but He delayed visiting them until days later after Lazarus had died and been buried. Jesus only delayed visiting and healing Lazarus while he was ill so that he could perform a greater miracle – raising the dead. Truly, Jesus brought him back to life after Martha acknowledged that He is the Resurrection and the Life.
This should inspire you to maintain faith and trust in Jesus, even in the face of difficulties. By turning to Him in prayer, you can find strength and assurance that He is present in your struggles and He is capable of raising dead potentials and abilities. Jesus can restore any unpalatable situation to a state of perfection.
My dear child, are you struggling with any unpleasant situation in your life, school, family, or neighbourhood? Do these situations seem to defy prayers? Please do not stop praying; rise and call upon Jesus now to resurrect any good thing in your life that is dead.
Prayer Point:
Father, please attend to my cries today and change my life for the better.
HYMN 16: PRAISE HIM, PRAISE HIM JESUS OUR BLESSED REDEEMER
1 Praise Him! praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer!
Sing, O earth, His wonderful love proclaim!
Hail Him, hail Him! Highest angels in glory!
Strength and honor give to His holy name!
Like a shepherd, Jesus will guard his children.
In His arms He carries them all day long.
O ye saints that dwell on the mountain of zion
Praise Him! praise Him!
Ever in joyful song!
2 Praise Him! praise Him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer,
For our sins He suffered and bled and died;
He, our Rock, our Hope of eternal salvation,
Hail Him! hail Him! Jesus, the Crucified;
Loving Savior, meekly enduring sorrow,
Crowned with thorns that cruelly pierced His brow;
Once for us rejected, despised, and forsaken,
Prince of Glory, ever triumphant now.
3 Praise Him! praise Him!
Jesus, our blessed Redeemer,
Heav’nly portals, loud with hosannas ring!
Jesus, Savior, reigneth for ever and ever;
Crown Him! crown Him! Prophet and Priest and King!
Death is vanquished! Tell it with joy, ye faithful,
Where is now thy victory, boasting grave?
Jesus lives! No longer thy portals are cheerless;
Jesus lives, the mighty and strong to save.
