Title: Cornelius Prayed
Memorize: So Cornelius said, “Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing Acts 10:30 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Acts 10:25-31 (Nkjv)
[25] As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. [26] But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I myself am also a man.”
[27] And as he talked with him, he went in and found many who had come together.
[28] Then he said to them, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
[29] Therefore I came without objection as soon as I was sent for. I ask, then, for what reason have you sent for me?”
[30] So Cornelius said, “Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing,
[31] and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your alms are remembered in the sight of God.
Message:
Today’s Bible reading tells us about a Roman centurion named Cornelius. He was a just man who feared God and had a good report among the Jews.
He also gave alms to the needy from time to time. Cornelius fasted and prayed until he received an angelic encounter.
An Angel appeared to him in a vision and instructed him to send for Peter, who came and shared the message of salvation with him and his household.
There are many teenagers in the world today who think that angelic encounters are only meant for pastors and prophets; however, this is a wrong belief.
I remember being just a worker in the Redeemed Christian Church of God when, on a Sunday, I went to use the restroom and saw a vision playing before me like I was viewing it on a screen.
In the vision, I saw that whenever a pastor was to minister on the pulpit, he would come out from his prayer room.
When I relayed this vision to my Father in the Lord, he confirmed that it was the former practice in RCCG many years before I became born again; my vision showed that God wanted them to go back to doing it.
My dear child, you can also see mighty visions of things to come. However, you must pray fervently to have such divine encounters.
Prayer Point:
Father, please let me encounter You in new ways.
HYMN 43: LEAD US HEAVENLY FATHER, LEAD US
1 Lead Us, Heavenly Father, Lead Us
O’er The World’s Tempestuous Sea;
Guard Us, Guide Us, Keep Us, Feed Us,
For We Have No Help But Thee,
Yet Possessing Every Blessing
If Our God Our Father Be.
2 Saviour, Breathe Forgiveness O’er Us;
All Our Weakness Thou Dost Know;
Thou Didst Tread This Earth Before Us,
Thou Didst Feel lts Keenest Woe;
Lone And Dreary, Faint And Weary,
Through The Desert Thou Didst Go.
3 Spirit Of Our God, Descending,
Fill Our Hearts With Heavenly Joy,
Love With Every Passion Blending,
Pleasure That Can Never Cloy;
Thus Provided, Pardoned, Guided,
Nothing Can Our Peace Destroy.
