Bible Reading: Mark 14:32-50 (Nkjv)
[32] Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.”
[33] And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed.

Message:
Prayer is the key, prayer is the key prayer is the master key. Jesus started with prayer and ended with prayer. Prayer is the master key. Today’s Bible reading tells us the story of Jesus contending for His life through heartfelt prayers in the Garden of Gethsemane. All through Jesus’ stay on earth, He was a prayer champion; He never did anything without praying. Before He began His ministry, He went into the wilderness to fast and pray; as a result, He was able to overcome the temptations satan threw at Him. At other times, Jesus would separate Himself and go into the mountains just to pray. Just before He was arrested and crucified, He prayed fervently. He knew His purpose – death on the cross – was a difficult one, so He cried to His Father for strength so He could accept His Father’s will and purpose for His life.
My dear child, no one can fulfil God’s purpose for his or her life without contending in the place of prayer. This is because the devil never wants God’s children to fulfil their purpose on earth. It is important that you incorporate prayer into your lifestyle so you can overcome the devil.
Key Point:
Jesus prayed all through His lifetime; you must also pray.
Hymn 55: Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose
- Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose;
Hear Thy Guardian Angel Say,
“Thou Art In The Midst Of Foes:
Watch And Pray!” - Principalities And Powers,
Mustering Their Unseen Array,
Wait For Thy Unguarded Hours:
“Watch And Pray.” - Gird Thy Heavenly Armour On;
Wear It Every Night And Day
Ambush’d Lies The Evil One:
“Watch And Pray.” - Hear The Victors Who O’ercame;
Still They Mark Each Warrior’s Way;
All With One Sweet Voice Exclaim,
“Watch And Pray!” - Hear, Above All, Hear Thy Lord,
Him Thou Lovest To Obey;
Hide Within Thy Heart His Word:
“Watch And Pra!.” - Watch, As If On That Alone
Hung The Issue Of The Day;
Pray, That Help May Be Sent Down:
Watch And Pray.
