Title: Choose Eternal Life
Memorize: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.Romans 6:23 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: John 3:35-36 (Nkjv)
[35] The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.
[36] He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
Message:
Eternal life is a gift that is given to all who believe in Jesus Christ. When sin came through Adam and Eve, spiritual death was activated in the world, but the moment Jesus died on the cross of Calvary, eternal life became a free gift to everyone who surrenders to Him.
When I was a younger Christian, I was curious to know if there truly is life after death, and my father in the Lord, Pa Josiah Akindayomi, made me understand that no one really dies; we only transition into another life after death. This is confirmed in Daniel 12:2 below:
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
There is life after death, which everyone faces, but only those who believe in Jesus Christ as the only path to eternal life will experience bliss in eternity. Those who reject Jesus will experience separation from God in eternity. My dear child, please choose eternal life today by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour if you have not yet done so. That way, you can escape God’s judgment on the last day.
Reflection:
Where will you spend eternity?
Hymn 4: Revive Thy Work, O Lord
1 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Thy mighty arm make bare;
speak with the voice that wakes the dead,
and make Thy people hear.
Refrain:
Revive Thy work, O Lord,
while here to Thee we bow;
descend, O gracious Lord, descend!
O come and bless us now.
2 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
now let us thirst for Thee;
and hung’ring for the bread of life
may all our spirits be. [Refrain]
3 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
exalt Thy precious name;
and, by the Holy Ghost, our love
for Thee and Thine inflame. [Refrain]
4 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
give pow’r unto Thy word;
grant that Thy blessed gospel may
in living faith be heard. [Refrain]
5 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
and give refreshing show’rs;
the glory shall be all Thine own,
the blessing, Lord, be ours. [Refrain]
