Title: Destiny Helpers
Memorize: Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Exodus 17:8-13 (Nkjv)
[8] Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
[9] And Moses said to Joshua, “Choose us some men and go out, fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand.”
[10] So Joshua did as Moses said to him, and fought with Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
[11] And so it was, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
[12] But Moses’ hands became heavy; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
[13] So Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
Message:
Οne common mistake young leaders make is trying to handle everything alone, often because they are energetic and zealous.
In today’s Bible reading, Moses needed help to secure victory against the Amalekites despite his wisdom.
He required Aaron and Hur to hold up his arms, ensuring that the Israelites prevailed in the battle against Amalek.
Also, when he struggled with the heavy responsibility of judging cases among the Israelites, his father-in-law, Jethro, taught him the power of delegation.
Beloved, are you overwhelmed with responsibilities in your church, fellowship, studies, or personal life?
You don’t have to carry such responsibilities alone. People often think I am superhuman when they give me accolades for successfully handling various departments during RCCG Conventions and Congresses; however, I always make it clear that God alone deserves all the praise.
He gives us wisdom to prayerfully delegate tasks to spirit-filled, competent individuals who share our vision.
We believe that this is one of the reasons for the sporadic growth of the RCCG today.
My dear child, God has placed some godly people around you as your destiny helpers.
When you need guidance or help, feel free to reach out and speak with them.
Also, seek mentorship from elders who can guide you and encourage you.
May the Almighty God continue to direct you as you journey through life, in Jesus’ name.
Key Point:
Don’t allow yourself to be overburdened by responsibilities. Seek help from those whom God has placed around you as destiny helpers.
HYMN 5: PASS ME NOT, O GENTLE SAVIOUR
1 Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
do not pass me by.
Refrain:
Savior, Savior, hear my humble cry;
while on others Thou art calling,
do not pass me by.
2 Let me at a throne of mercy
find a sweet relief,
kneeling there in deep contrition;
help my unbelief. [Refrain]
3 Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
heal my wounded, broken spirit,
save me by Thy grace. [Refrain]
4 Thou, the Spring of all my comfort,
more than life to me;
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in heav’n but Thee? [Refrain]
