Title: The Word Or The World?
Memorize: And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: John 17:14-17 (Nkjv)
[14] I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
[15] I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
[16] They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.
[17] Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
Message:
Living in this world sometimes comes with the risk of being influenced by worldly patterns. If you do not regularly fill your heart with the word of God, you might be negatively influenced by the things you see or hear in your environment.
Today’s memory verse says that you are not to conform to this world; instead, you should be transformed by the renewal of your mind. This means that even though you are in the world, you are not to follow the patterns of the world. Let your mind be constantly transformed and renewed, and this can only happen through the word of God.
Beloved, reading, meditating, and studying the word of God daily will keep you from being influenced by worldly trends and patterns. When you want to make decisions, let God’s word guide you. Let the word of God become your standard, and let it guide your actions, words, and relationships with other people.
Key Point:
Meditate on the word of God at all times.
Hymn 14: Ho, My Comrades! See The Signal
1 HO, my comrades! See the signal
Waving in the sky!
Reinforcements now appearing,
Victory is nigh!
“Hold the Fort, for I am coming,”
Jesus signals still;
Wave the answer back to Heaven,
“By Thy grace we will.”
2 See the mighty host advancing,
Satan leading on:
Mighty men around us falling,
Courage almost gone.
3 See the glorious banner waving!
Hear the trumpet blow!
In our Leader’s name we’ll triumph
Over every foe!
4 Fierce and long the battle rages,
But our help is near:
Onward comes our great Commander,
Cheer, my comrades, cheer!
