Title: Who Are Your Friends
Memorize: Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. Ecclesiastes 4:9 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 1:1-9 (Nkjv)
[1] The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.
[2] “Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher; “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.”
[3] What profit has a man from all his labor In which he toils under the sun?
[4] One generation passes away, and another generation comes; But the earth abides forever.
[5] The sun also rises, and the sun goes down, And hastens to the place where it arose.
[6] The wind goes toward the south, And turns around to the north; The wind whirls about continually, And comes again on its circuit.
[7] All the rivers run into the sea, Yet the sea is not full; To the place from which the rivers come, There they return again.
[8] All things are full of labor; Man cannot express it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor the ear filled with hearing.
[9] That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun.
Message:
Friendship and quality relationships provide support and encouragement when they are built on love, mutual respect, and obedience to God’s principles.
The Bible encourages believers not to walk alone, but instead, to exhort and encourage one another (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Today, many young people struggle with depression and psychological issues because they isolate themselves from other people.
The Bible emphasizes the importance of godly associations. In Proverbs 13:20 (Nkjv), the Scripture says, “He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.”
Some Christians have encountered problems due to wrong friendships. However, there are also inspiring stories of people who were rescued from danger because a friend checked on them or alerted the right authorities on time.
An adage says, ‘Show me your friernd, and I will tell you who you are.’ This means that your friends can significantly influence the direction of your life.
Therefore, I implore you to choose your friends wisely. Ensure that you and your friends are particular about one another’s progress morally. spiritually, academically, and in other aspects of life.
Key Point:
Your friends can be a major influence in your life; therefore, choose them carefully.
HYMN 27: WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS
1 What a Friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer!
2 Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
3 Are we weak and heavy-laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge—
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there
