TOPIC – The Power Within
MEMORISE: And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: – Joel 2:28
BIBLE READING: Acts 2:1-4
1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
MESSAGE:
The power within a believer is the power of the Holy Spirit in his or her life. When a believer experiences the baptism of the Holy Spirit, he or she becomes endowed with power from above. In Acts 1:8 (KJV), the Bible says, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you…”
Beloved, if you are baptised in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, you have received the power to communicate with the Holy Ghost and are equipped for God’s service. The Holy Spirit gives access to other supernatural gifts and abilities such as healing, prophecy, the working of miracles, faith, discernment of spirits, interpretation of tongues, words of knowledge, and words of wisdom (1 Corinthians 12:4-10).
My dear child, if you have not been baptised with the Holy Spirit, ask God for an infilling today, and He will surely answer you (Luke 11:13). You must also develop a deep hunger and thirst for the Holy Spirit. When you are empowered by the Holy Spirit, you will do great exploits for the Kingdom of God.
PRAYER POINT:
Holy Ghost, I surrender my life to you. Please, fill me with Your power.
HYMN 1: ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME
1 All hail the power of Jesus’ name!
Let angels prostrate fall.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all!
2 O seed of Israel’s chosen race
now ransomed from the fall,
hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all.
Hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all!
3 Let every tongue and every tribe
responsive to his call,
to him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all.
To him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all!
4 Oh, that with all the sacred throng
we at his feet may fall!
We’ll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.
We’ll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.
