READ: JOHN 14:16-18 KJV
[16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
[17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
[18] I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
MESSAGE:
In today’s Bible reading, the Holy Spirit is identified as the Comforter.
He comforts Christians, and He helps them overcome their challenges.
Therefore, if you are heartbroken, or you are shedding tears behind closed doors, the Holy Spirit is there to comfort you and bring you out of whatever situation you may be going through.
There are certain sorrows that believers may experience that are either as a result of their negligence, disobedience, or sin.
When such believers genuinely ask the Holy Spirit for help during those times, He will comfort them and give them a fresh start.
The Holy Spirit also empowers and energises believers to do great things.
When God’s hand came upon Elijah, he was strengthened, and he ran faster than chariots (1 Kings 18:46).
My dear child, you can achieve anything through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. Do not rely on your strength alone.
PRAYER POINT:
Holy Spirit, please empower me.
HYMN 16:
ALL HAIL THE POW’R OF JESUS’ NAME
1: All hail the pow’r of Jesus’ name!
Let angels prostrate fall,
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown Him Lord of all.
2: Crown Him, ye martyrs of our God,
Who from His altar call;
Extol the stem of Jesse’s rod.
And crown Him Lord of all.
3: Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race.
A remnant weak and small,
Hail Him who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all.
4: Ye Gentile sinners, ne’er forget
The wormwood and the gall;
Go, spread your trophies at His feet,
And crown Him Lord of all.
5: Let every kindred, every tribe,
On this terrestrial ball,
To Him all majesty ascribe,
And crown Him Lord of all.
6: O that with yonder sacred throng
We at His feet may fall.
Join in the everlasting song,
And crown Him Lord of all.
