Title: Pride Drains
Memorize: When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom. Proverbs 11:2 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading (Nkjv): Proverbs 11:1-3
[1] Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord, But a just weight is His delight.
[2] When pride comes, then comes shame; But with the humble is wisdom.
[3] The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them.
Message:
When people attain some top positions in the society, they are accorded a lot of respect. They receive special attention and gifts from many who depend on them for certain favors, but the moment they leave office, their loyalists decamp to the new person in that position. Little wonder some people go to any length to remain in titled positions, and some who can’t manage loneliness eventually lose their minds.
I used to know a brother named Sam in my younger days: he was a terror to the kingdom of darkness. Though he was illiterate, he once preached in fluent English for one hour because the Holy Spirit gave him utterance.
In fact, he also raised three dead persons back to life. Unfortunately, after all his achievements, he allowed pride to get into his heart, and he later ended up in an asylum.
Beloved, pride will drain anyone possessed by it, but when you retain God in your heart, He will make you relevant throughout your lifetime.
Prayer Point:
Father, every element of pride that will reduce me to an ex-champion, please take it away from me.
