Title: The Wisdom of God

Memorize: Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! Romans 11:33 (Nkjv)

Bible Reading (Nkjv): 1 Corinthians 1:20-25

[20] Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

[21] For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

[22] For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness,

[24] but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

[25] Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

Message:

Yesterday, we considered the wisdom of men and how men think that they can outsmart God. I would like you to know that no one can outsmart God.

God is all-knowing, His ways are unsearchable, and His thoughts are deeper than the deepest ocean.
The scientists and philosophers of this world can only try to explain some things in the creation of God, but they cannot fully understand it.
No wonder Isaiah 55:9 says: “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.
Thus, it is foolishness to intentionally go against or question divine instructions.
For instance, God’s word says: “Cast your bread upon many waters, after many days thou shalt find it,” which means give so that you can have in abundance, while the wisdom of the world says it is better to save for rainy days.
This wisdom in itself is reasonable because you shouldn’t spend all that you have; you should have savings.
However, if you really want to live in abundance, that is, if you want to flourish, you will not withhold what you have from the needy: you will give your offerings and pay your tithes.

Prayer Point:

You can never outsmart God; when He gives you an instruction, follow it to the letter.

HYMN 16 – BREATHE ON ME

  1. Breathe on me, Breath of God,
    Fill me with life anew,
That I may love the way you love,
And do what you would do.
  2. Breathe on me, Breath of God,
    Until my heart is pure,
Until my will is one with yours,
    To do and to endure.
  3. Breathe on me, Breath of God,
    So shall I never die,
But live with you the perfect life
    For all eternity.
