Title: Be Patient

Memorize: that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:12

Bible Reading: Matthew 4:1-4 (Nkjv)

[1] Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

[2] And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.

[3] Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

[4] But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”

Message:

One weakness in the life of many young believers today is impatience. It is unfortunate that Satan keeps exploiting them through this, and they fall into his trap.

When he knows that you’re hungry, he will come to tempt you to ”turn stone to bread” using any means that suits you, At such a moment, you should react like Jesus, who said: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

I remember when I needed money urgently to attend a Christian conference abroad. I had prayed for provision, and a brother approached me the following day to sponsor my trip.

It seemed the answer to my prayer had arrived until God spoke to me not to collect the seed offering he brought. The man left in anger.

Some weeks later, I heard in the news that the anti-corruption agency was investigating a fraud connected to him, and everyone who benefitted from the money had been arrested along with him. That was how God saved me from shame.

Do you believe in God for a better life? My dear, please be patient, and don’t engage in any sinful/fraudulent act.

Prayer Point:

Father, please help me not to run ahead of You in every aspect of my life, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 18 – WHEN WE WALK WITH THE LORD

  1. When we walk with the Lord,
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will
    He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

CHORUS
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.

  1. Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
    But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt nor a fear,
Not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.
  2. Not a burden we bear,
    Not a sorrow we share
    But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey
  3. But we never can prove
    The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
    For the favour He shows
    And the joy He bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey.
  4. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
