Title: Secrets of Growth

Memorize:  praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:47 (Nkjv)

Bible Reading (Nkjv): Acts 4:32-33

[32]  Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.

[33] And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.

Message:

No parent will watch a five-year-old child that is still crawling and consider it normal. It’s expected that at that age, he or she should be walking perfectly.

The same is obtainable in the kingdom of God. When a young convert remains on a spot for so long and still considers himself a baby Christian, God is worried that there’s something wrong with such a child.

God is interested in the spiritual growth of His children, just as He is in other aspects of their lives. One major secret of growth is desiring and studying the word of God.

1 Peter 2:2 says: “as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, Without the word, you cannot grow.

Some teenagers have been born again for 6 years or more, yet, they cannot perform miracles: this ought not to be.

Be committed to your growth, be steadfast in fellowship, love people genuinely, pray for other believers and speak the truth in love.

When Christians work on their individual growth, the church of God and the Body of Christ at large will, in turn, experience exponential increase.

Action Point:

Read and study 1 chapter of the bible for the next one week.

HYMN 6: I’M PRESSING ON THE UPWARD WAY

1. I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining everyday;
Still praying as I onward bound
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”

CHORUS
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s table-land;
Where love, and joy, and light abound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.

2. My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise, and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My constant aim is higher ground.

3. Beyond the mist I fain would rise,
To rest beneath unclouded skies,
Above earth’s turmoil peace is found
By those who dwell on higher ground.

4. I long to scale the utmost height,
Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
My song, while climbing, shall resound
Lord, lead me on to higher ground.

5. Lord, lead me up the mountain side
I dare not climb without my Guide;
And, heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
With grateful heart from higher ground.
