Title: Addicted?
Memorize: I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading (Nkjv): 2 Corinthians 6:14
[14] Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?
Message:
Addiction is a word that is used to describe someone’s dependence on a substance or habit, and can be either physical, mental or psychological.
Though the word is mostly used in relation to the abuse of alcohol or drugs, people also use it to describe an unhealthy focus on other areas ranging from food to immoral living, social media, video games, et cetera.
Many addictions begin from childhood and become profound in adolescence if they are not put in check.
Most times, addictions come as a result of personal experimentation or external influence from one’s peers.
This is why today’s Bible text commands that we should not be closely knit with unbelievers so that their darkness will not swallow us.
If you are reading this, and you are struggling with any form of addiction, I pray that God will deliver you from that bondage right now in Jesus’ name.
I implore you to seek counsel and help quickly from godly elders so that the addiction will not destroy you.
Prayer Point:
Father, please deliver everyone who is addicted to bad things today in Jesus’ name.
HYMN 3 – ALL TO JESUS I SURRENDER
1. All to Jesus I surrender
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
CHORUS
I surrender all.
I surrender all:
All to Thee, my blessed savior
I surrender all
2. All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow;
Worldly pleasures all forsaken.
Take me, Jesus, take me now.
3. All to Jesus I surrender.
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me.
4. All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory to His name!
