Topic: “Stay on Your Lane”

Memorize: Proverbs 22:29

Do you see a man who [a]excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.

Read: 1 Corinthians 12;4-7 (NKJV)

4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.
6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.
7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:

Message

As God’s child, you are to be diligent in whatever is committed into your hands – academically, spiritually, et cetera.
“Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.” Ecclesiastes 9:10

The Scripture above emphasizes the need for diligence. In light of today’s text, let us note some things: One, there are many gifts in the body of Christ, and every believer possesses at least one. Two, it is the Holy Spirit who distributes gifts to every believer as He chooses.

Three, there are differences in the administration as well as the division of labor. Thus, children of God should beware of carrying out too many activities in the Church by themselves so as not to break down in the process, thereby becoming counter-productive.

You must understand that no gift is either superior or inferior to another. Apostle Paul warned against this discrimination in the use of the spiritual gifts. Beloved, wherever you find yourself, be a team player.

ACTION POINT:
Identify your spiritual gift(s) and begin to operate in its fullness, to the glory of God.

HYMN 5 – Take My Life And Let It Be

  1. Take my life and let it
    Consecrated Lord to Thee
    Take my moment and my days
    Let them flow ceaseless praise.
  2. Take my hands and let them move
    At the impulse of Thy love
    Take my feet and let them be
    Swift and beautiful for thee
  3. Take my voice and let me sing
    Always only for my king;
    Take my lips and let them be
    Filled with messages from Thee.
  4. Take my sliver and my gold
    Not a mite would I withhold
    Take my intellect, and use
    Every power as thou shalt choose.
  5. Take my will and make it Thine,
    It shall no longer mine:
    Take my heart, it is Thine own;
    It shall be Thy royal throne,
  6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
    At Thy feet its treasure store;
    Take myself, and I will be
    Ever, only, all for thee
