Title: Call to Salvation
Memorize: Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:29 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading (Nkjv): Matthew 11:28-29
[28] Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
[29] Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Message:
There are mainly two people involved in a call – the caller and the called. In today’s text, God gave a basic divine call to all men -a call unto salvation which is hinged on John 3:16:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.“
It is, however, sad that some people who are considered wise because of their educational achievements prove to be the least wise when it comes to matters relating to God. When I was a lecturer at the University of Lagos, I knew professors who sought powers and riches from herbalists who lived in bushes and houses in poor conditions. Sadly, many people still choose to perish by not accepting God’s invitation to salvation and eternal life.
If you are reading this and you haven’t yet accepted God’s salvation, another invitation is extended to you today. Accept God’s love through the sacrifice of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Then, make conscious efforts to remain on the side of the Most High because you cannot love the world and God at the same time.
Prayer Point:
Lord Jesus, please save my soul, wash me with Your precious blood and help me to be on Your side forever.
HYMN 3 – All To Jesus I Surrender
- All to Jesus I surrender
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
CHORUS
I surrender all.
I surrender all:
All to Thee,
my blessed savior
I surrender all
- All to Jesus I surrender,
Humbly at His feet I bow;
Worldly pleasures all forsaken.
Take me, Jesus, take me now. - All to Jesus I surrender.
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me. - All to Jesus I surrender,
Now I feel the sacred flame
O the joy of full salvation!
Glory, glory to His name!
