Title: Renew Your Mind

Memorize: And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2 (Nkjv)

Bible Reading: Romans 12:1-2 (Nkjv)

[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

[2] And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Message:

One striking thing about holiness is that it is God’s nature. As human beings, if we were to be asked the question: who is God? We might say, God is love, He is powerful, He is merciful, He is faithful, et cetera, However, if any member of the hosts of Heavens were asked the same question, the answer would be “God is Holy!” Knowing God more intimately requires a deep study of His word.

It is vital for every child of God to study and meditate on the word of God, day and night.

Studying is a deliberate effort to gain knowledge. Meditating on the word of God involves reflecting or pondering on His word.

God instructed Joshua to meditate on His word both morning and evening as constant meditation will lead to good success (Joshua 1:8).

If you desire to know the perfect will of God for every aspect of your life, renew your mind through constant studying and meditation on the word of God. Let God’s word take root in your heart.

Action Point:

Create a plan for studying the Bible and meditating on a specific Scripture daily. The Bible-in-one-Year plan in this devotional would help.

HYMN 21 – I WANT TO BE LIKE JESUS

1. I want to be like Jesus,
So lowly and so meek;
For no one mark’d an angry word,
That ever heard Him speak,

2. I want to be like Jesus,
So frequently in prayer;
Alone upon the mountain top,
He met his Father there.

3. I want to be like Jesus,
I never, never find
That He, though persecuted was
To anyone unkind.

4. I want to be like Jesus,
Engaged in doing good;
So that of me it may be said
“He hath done what he could.”

5. I want to be like Jesus,
Who sweetly said to all,
“Let little children come to Me;”
I would obey the call.

6. But oh I’m not like Jesus,
As anyone may see;
O gentle Savior, send Thy grace,
And make me like to Thee
