Title: Winner’s Mindset
Memorize: I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14
Bible Reading: Philippians 3:13-14 (Nkjv)
[13] Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
[14] I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Message:
A warrior who wins in a battle is one who has decided not to be defeated at all, no matter how strong the opposition is.
For example, on football pitch, if a team is winning at halftime, the coach usually encourages them to strengthen their defence and fill up some loopholes, charging them to stay strong until the last second of the match.
Don’t be a victim of a weak mentality where you see failure even before a challenge comes.
As a child of God, you must develop a positive mindset from the point of Apostle John in 1 John 4:4: “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
Beloved, you may have failed before, but that doesn’t register you before God as a loser or failure.
As a result, ask the Holy Spirit for a new strategy to overcome any challenge in your academics, career, spiritual life, finances, et cetera.
Sometimes, old strategies may not win new battles, hence, your enquiry from the Holy Spirit.
Key Point:
Winners never quit, and quitters never win.
HYMN 6: I’M PRESSING ON THE UPWARD WAY
1. I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining everyday;
Still praying as I onward bound
“Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.”
CHORUS
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s table-land;
Where love, and joy, and light abound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
2. My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise, and fears dismay;
Though some may dwell where these abound,
My constant aim is higher ground.
3. Beyond the mist I fain would rise,
To rest beneath unclouded skies,
Above earth’s turmoil peace is found
By those who dwell on higher ground.
4. I long to scale the utmost height,
Though rough the way, and hard the fight,
My song, while climbing, shall resound
Lord, lead me on to higher ground.
5. Lord, lead me up the mountain side
I dare not climb without my Guide;
And, heaven gained, I’ll gaze around,
With grateful heart from higher ground.
