READ: Matthew 7:21-23
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
MESSAGE
Many people know me all over the world, however, I do not know them personally. If they get an opportunity to be in the same room with me and they say, “Daddy, we know you,” I will just smile and say, “God bless you.” It is one thing to know God, but it is an entirely different thing to be known by God Himself.
Though Daniel 11:32 establishes that those who know their God will be strong and do exploits, it is far more glorious and beneficial to be known by God. 2 Timothy 2:19 gives the condition for attracting special recognition from God:
“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
When you depart from sin and make holiness your lifestyle, you will gain God’s confidence and full backing as His representative on earth. On the last day, He will not refer to you as a worker of iniquity whom He does not know.
REFLECTION:
Does He know you
HYMN 4 – Christ Is Our Corner-Stone
1. Christ is our Comer-stone;
On Him alone we build;
With His true Saints alone
The courts of Heaven are filled;
On His great Love
Our hopes we place
Of present grace,
And joys above.
2. Oh, then with hymns of praise
These hallow’d courts shall ring:
Our voices we will raise,
The Three in One to sing;
And thus proclaim
In joyful song,
Both loud and long,
That glorious Name.
3. Here, gracious God, do Thou
For evermore draw nigh;
Accept each faithful vow,
And mark each suppliant sigh;
In copious shower
On all who pray,
Each holy day,
Thy blessings pour.
4 Here may we gain from Heaven,
The grace which we implore,
And may that grace, once given
Be with us evermore;
Until that day,
When all the blest,
To endless rest
Are call’d away.
