Title: The Gift Of Laughter
Memorize: A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones. Proverbs 17:22 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Psalms 126:1-2 (Nkjv)
[1] When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream.
[2] Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”
Message:
Studies have shown that laughter releases chemicals into the brain and creates feelings of happiness that help a person stay on top of his or her goals.
Laughter is a beautiful thing that helps us remain cheerful no matter the situation we find ourselves in.
It comes naturally when something good happens or bubbles up in us.
You may not believe it when I say that one of the reasons I look agile and younger than my age is the consistency of my joy and laughter.
When my children were still living with me and my wife, we gathered every evening to watch movies, tell stories, and share experiences that made us laugh.
Even when I call them on the phone today to reminisce, my children are always amazed at my humorous wits.
My dear child, learn to laugh and smile often because it has been medically proven to be therapeutic.
I pray that the Lord will do something great in your life and family that will make you laugh for the rest of your life, in Jesus’ name.
Action Point:
Go ahead and laugh for the next two minutes.
HYMN 18 – TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS
1 ‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord.”
CHORUS
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!
2 O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
Just in simple faith to plunge me
‘Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
3 Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.
4 I’m so glad Learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend,
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
