Memorize: Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful Psalm 1:1 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Psalm 1:1-3 (Nkjv)
[1] Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
[2] But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night.
[3] He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.
Message:
The phrase, “blessed is the man” is a common phrase in the Bible and refers to the state of being favored and being joyful in God’s presence.
Psalm 1:1-3 teaches that true blessings come from delighting in the law of the Lord and meditating on His word day and night.
Matthew 5:3-10 also says: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus teaches us that being ‘blessed’ is not about having material wealth or worldly success but about having a heart attuned to God’s will and living a righteous life. Beloved, for you to partake of this blessing, you must have a pure heart.
Key Point:
Pray for the grace and wisdom to live a life that is pleasing to God and to experience His blessings.
