Title: Miracle Of A Seed I
Memorize: Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you. Luke 6:38 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: John 6:7-13 (Nkjv)
[7] Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.”
[8] One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him,
[9] “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many?”
[10] Then Jesus said, “Make the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
[11] And Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks He distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples to those sitting down; and likewise of the fish, as much as they wanted.
[12] So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.”
[13] Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten.
Message:
Today’s Bible reading is an account of how Jesus ministered to the multitude that followed Him and got fed after His sermon with the lunch of a boy.
The Bible records that 5000 men were fed (aside from women and children) with five loaves of bread and two fishes.
Now, the question is, was it only this small boy who had food on him that day? The answer is No!
When people come to the Holy Ghost Service at Redemption Camp, they usually buy food or snacks to eat before the program commences.
So, I can infer that some people in the multitude that day had something to eat while others didn’t.
However, a boy was thoughtful enough to give up his meal when he saw that Jesus was in need. The major lesson here is that even in the presence of God, not all fingers are equal.
If you are privileged to have food to eat, clothes to wear, a phone to use, shoes to put on, be nice to people who don’t have at all. Then watch how God will multiply your seed to give you 12 baskets full of blessings!
Reflection:
Be good to everyone.
HYMN 17 – THERE SHALL BE SHOWERS OF BLESSING
1. There shall be showers of blessing”
This is the promise of love;
There shall be season refreshing
Send from a savior above
CHORUS
Showers of blessing
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy drop round are falling
But for the showers we plead.
2. “There shall be showers of blessing”
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys;
Sound of abundance of rain.
3. “There shall be showers of blessing”
Send them upon us Oh Lord!
Grant to us a refreshing;
Come now and honour Thy Word.
4. “There shall be showers of blessing”
Oh, that today thy might fall,
Now as to God we are confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
5. “There shall be showers of blessing”
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be season refreshing,
If we let God have his way.
