Title: Hide In His Secret Place
Memorize: He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Psalms 27:5-6 (Nkjv)
[5] For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle he shall hide me; he shall set me high upon a rock.
[6] And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me; therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
Message:
There is this story of four boys who were discussing about their fathers; each boasted about his own.
The first said his father was the greatest because he was the Head of State.
The second boy said his father was greater than the father of the first boy because his father was the physician of the Head of State, and if his father ordered the Head of State to stay in bed for one week, he would obey him.
The third boy then said his father was higher than their fathers because his father was their fathers’ medicine man, so he could kill the two fathers.
The fourth boy, who was the son of a messenger, said his father was the greatest of all four fathers because not only could his father kill all their fathers, but he could also raise the dead.
They were amazed; then he told them he was not referring to his physical father but the One above, who is the Most High God.
From the memory verse, the Most High God, whom the fourth boy in the story talked about, has a secret place which accommodates His own when in trouble.
As His child, you already have access to this place. The only thing that can separate you from this place is sin.
Never play with sin so that you can remain in God’s secret place.
Prayer Point:
Father, keep me in your secret place forever, in Jesus’ name.
HYMN 9 – DEEPER, DEEPER IN THE LOVE OF JESUS
1. Deeper, deeper in the love of Jesus
Daily let me go;
Higher, higher in the school of wisdom,
More of grace to know.
CHORUS
O deeper yet I pray,
And higher ev’ry day,
And wiser, blessed, Lord,
In Thy precious, holy word.
2. Deeper, deeper! blessed Holy Spirit,
Take me deeper still,
Till my life is wholly lost in Jesus
And His perfect will.
3. Deeper, deeper! tho’ it cost hard trials,
Deeper let me go!
Rooted in the holy love of Jesus,
Let me fruitful grow.
4. Deeper, higher ev’ry day in Jesus,
Till all conflict past,
Finds me conqueror, and in His own image
Perfected at last.
