Title: One More Try
Memorize: Then he said, “Take the arrows”; so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground”; so he struck three times, and stopped. 2 Kings 13:18 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Luke 5:4-6 (Nkjv)
[4] When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”
[5] But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”
[6] And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.
Message:
When we set out at the beginning of a new year to achieve our goals, there is usually a lot of excitement that gets people pumped up to succeed against all odds.
However, there is no certainty that all goals will be achieved due to different factors.
As a child of God, your mind must be made up to achieve success despite the roadblocks that may be confronting you in your studies, career, walk with God, et cetera.
Today’s memory verse tells us about a king who determined his success in battle even before it started.
The man of God in the story expressed his disappointment that he smote the ground only thrice, and thus, his fate was sealed (2 Kings 13:19).
Beloved, God will present several opportunities before you this year, and it is important that you are sensitive in the spirit to know when they come so that you will have breakthroughs.
The opportunities may be in things you have failed at before; however, do not be afraid to try again. Success does not usually come immediately, so if you are given other chances, please try again.
Be like Peter, who said to Jesus, “Nevertheless at thy word, I will let down the net.” 33 Prayer Point: Father, please enlarge my capacity this year and don’t let me give up.

HYMN 9 – DEEPER, DEEPER IN THE LOVE OF JESUS
1. Deeper, deeper in the love of Jesus
Daily let me go;
Higher, higher in the school of wisdom,
More of grace to know.
CHORUS
O deeper yet I pray,
And higher ev’ry day,
And wiser, blessed, Lord,
In Thy precious, holy word.
2. Deeper, deeper! blessed Holy Spirit,
Take me deeper still,
Till my life is wholly lost in Jesus
And His perfect will.
3. Deeper, deeper! tho’ it cost hard trials,
Deeper let me go!
Rooted in the holy love of Jesus,
Let me fruitful grow.
4. Deeper, higher ev’ry day in Jesus,
Till all conflict past,
Finds me conqueror, and in His own image
Perfected at last.
