Title: King Amon
Memorize: Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord Acts 3:19 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: 2 Chronicles 33:21-25 (Nkjv)
[21] Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem.
[22] But he did evil in the sight of the Lord, as his father Manasseh had done; for Amon sacrificed to all the carved images which his father Manasseh had made, and served them.
[23] And he did not humble himself before the Lord, as his father Manasseh had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.
[24] Then his servants conspired against him, and killed him in his own house.
[25] But the people of the land executed all those who had conspired against King Amon. Then the people of the land made his son Josiah king in his place.
Message:
King Amon was the son of King Manasseh, and he was the father of King Josiah the 16th king of Judah. Amon was 22 years old when he began to rule, and he was king for only two years before he was assassinated. Amon’s life serves as a warning about the dangers of rejecting God and the consequences that come from not having a repentant heart and living a life of rebellion.
In today’s bible reading, it was recorded that Amon rejected God and turned to idols and false gods, just as his father Manasseh had done. Despite God’s warnings, he refused to repent (2 Chronicles 33:23), which led him down a path of destruction and untimely death (2 Chronicles 33:24).
Beloved, for a fellow not to be destroyed, he or she must repent. If you are still living in sin, I implore you to repent of those ‘little’ sins before it is too late. May you not have a reprobate mind, in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Point:
Father, please forgive me of my sins, in Jesus’ name.
HYMN 13 – PASS ME NOT, O GENTLE SAVIOR
1 Pass me not, O gentle Savior,
Hear my humble cry,
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
Refrain:
Savior, Savior,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
2 Let me at a throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief;
Kneeling there in deep contrition,
Help my unbelief.
3 Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.
4 Thou the Spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in heav’n but Thee?
