Title: Stir Up Your Heart
Memorize: Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 2 Timothy 1:6 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Joel 2:28-29 (Nkjv)
[28] And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.
[29] And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
Message:
God has placed unique spiritual gifts within every believer. However, it is our responsibility, as believers, to discover, nurture, and use the gifts for His glory. These gifts are not meant for personal gain but to strengthen the body of Christ and draw others to Him.
In today’s Bible reading, Prophet Joel prophesied that God would pour out His Spirit on all flesh, enabling them to perform various functions. This prophecy confirms that the Holy Spirit is the One who equips us with the necessary gifts to fulfil His divine purpose. However, these gifts must be stirred up by us and not left dormant.
My dear child, to activate and grow in the operation of your spiritual gifts, commit yourself to a lifestyle of prayer, studying God’s word, and active service in the areas where your gifts can be used. Surround yourself with godly mentors and other believers who will encourage and challenge you to develop spiritually. Above all, use your gifts with humility and love. I pray that God will help you to stir up and use the gifts within you for good works, in Jesus’ name.
Action Point:
Spend the next ten minutes in prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to ignite His gifts within you.
Hymn: All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name
1 All hail the power of Jesus’ name!
Let angels prostrate fall.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all.
Bring forth the royal diadem,
and crown him Lord of all!
2 O seed of Israel’s chosen race
now ransomed from the fall,
hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all.
Hail him who saves you by his grace,
and crown him Lord of all!
3 Let every tongue and every tribe
responsive to his call,
to him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all.
To him all majesty ascribe,
and crown him Lord of all!
4 Oh, that with all the sacred throng
we at his feet may fall!
We’ll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.
We’ll join the everlasting song
and crown him Lord of all.
