Title: Jabez Prayed
Memorize: And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested. Chronicles 4:10 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Chronicles 4:9-10 (Nkjv)
[9] Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.”
[10] And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.
Message:
Today’s Bible reading tells us that Jabez was more honourable than his brethren, but he was actually operating under a curse because his mother gave birth to him in sorrow.
Jabez realised that if God did not intervene in his case, he would die a nonentity, so he prayed, and God turned his life around for good.
The devil does not want any of God’s children to be great. If you want to be relevant and successful in life, implore you to start praying seriously from now.
Just like Jabez was cursed by his mother at birth, some children are under the influence of the curses placed on them by their parents or some evil-doers in their lineage.
I pray that if there is any curse operating in your life, it will be broken today, in Jesus’ name.
My dear child, do you have any form of disorder that has made your parents, teachers, or friends tag you as a dullard?
Do you think you are cursed in any way? Are you struggling in your academics despite putting in great efforts?
It is time to change your destiny by asking God to intervene in your situation.
Pray fervently like Jabez, and you will be free, in Jesus’ name.
Confession:
Jesus was made a curse so that I can be free. Therefore, I decree that I am free from any curse, in Jesus’ name.
HYMN 22: SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER! SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER!
1 Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
that calls me from a world of care,
and bids me at my Father’s throne
make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
my soul has often found relief,
and oft escaped the tempter’s snare
by thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
2 Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
the joys I feel, the bliss I share
of those whose anxious spirits burn
with strong desires for thy return!
With such I hasten to the place
where God my Savior shows his face,
and gladly take my station there,
and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
3 Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
thy wings shall my petition bear
to him whose truth and faithfulness
engage the waiting soul to bless.
And since he bids me seek his face,
believe his word, and trust his grace,
I’ll cast on him my every care,
and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!
