Title: Dreams
Memorize And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, tour old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. Joel 2:28 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Genesis 41:1-7 (Nkjv)
[1] Then it came to pass, at the end of two full years, that Pharaoh had a dream; and behold, he stood by the river.
[2] Suddenly there came up out of the river seven cows, fine looking and fat; and they fed in the meadow.
[3] Then behold, seven other cows came up after them out of the river, ugly and gaunt, and stood by the other cows on the bank of the river.
[4] And the ugly and gaunt cows ate up the seven fine looking and fat cows. So Pharaoh awoke.
[5] He slept and dreamed a second time; and suddenly seven heads of grain came up on one stalk, plump and good.
[6] Then behold, seven thin heads, blighted by the east wind, sprang up after them.
[7] And the seven thin heads devoured the seven plump and full heads. So Pharaoh awoke, and indeed, it was a dream.
Message:
There are different theories that prove that what you think of before going to bed forms your dreams.
Some are of the opinion that our activities during the day oftentimes interfere with our dreams. Regardless of these, God still speaks to His children through dreams.
There are different purposes for which God gives dreams, such as to inform His children of what is about to happen.
God revealed Joseph’s future to him in dreams, and his brothers hated him so much that they sold him into slavery at a very young age.
Despite all that they did, Joseph’s dreams still became a reality.
Another reason God reveals things to His children through dreams is for them to intervene/intercede and change the course of events.
For instance, in today’s Bible passage, the king needed to take action to avoid the impending famine, and he did through the help of Joseph.
Never joke with your dreams. If you don’t understand them, ask God for interpretation or tell it to a mature and spiritual person who can interpret them for you so you can pray or act accordingly.
Prayer Point:
Father, please always reveal hidden things to me and lead me to do the right things with the information I receive from You.
HYMN 16 – BREATHE ON ME
1. Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Fill me with life anew,
That I may love the way you love,
And do what you would do.
2. Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Until my heart is pure,
Until my will is one with yours,
To do and to endure.
3. Breathe on me, Breath of God,
So shall I never die,
But live with you the perfect life
For all eternity.
