Title: The Source Of Light
Memorize: You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Matthew 5:14-16 (Nkjv)
[14] You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
[15] Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
[16] Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
Message:
Light is a very powerful force. When there is light, darkness has no choice but to disappear. In John 8:12, Jesus Introduced Himself as the Light of the world. Just as the sun is the physical light of the world, Jesus Christ is the spiritual Light. Now that, He is no longer with us physically, we, His children, have become the light here on earth.
Not all lights can outshine darkness. For instance, the light of the moon is different from that of the sun. If you put on a torch in the midst of total darkness, you will only see the spot the torchlight is pointing at. The volume of the word of God you are exposed to will determine the amount of light you walk in and the level of change you will experience in your life. Also, how bright your light will shine is determined by the word of God in you.
You cannot make a great change in your life and in the world if you do not have the word of God in you. The word of God is your source of light; you cannot shine without it.
Key Point:
How well do you study the word?
Hymn – 60 Most Ancient Of All Mysteries
1 Most ancient of all mysteries,
Before Thy throne we lie;
Have mercy now, most merciful,
Most holy Trinity.
2 When heav’n and earth were yet unmade,
When time was yet unknown,
Thou in Thy bliss and majesty
Didst live and love alone.
3 Thou wert not born; there was no fount
From which Thy Being flowed;
There is no end which Thou canst reach;
But ThoU art simply God.
4 How wonderful creation is,
The work which Thou didst bless,
And O what then must Thou be like,
Eternal loveliness!
5 0 listen then, most pitiful,
To Thy poor creature’s heart:
It blesses Thee that Thou art God,
That Thou art what ThoU art.
6 Most ancient of all mysteries,
Still at thy throne we lie;
Have mercy now, most merciful,
Most holy Trinity.
