Title: Focus On Your Work
Memorize: But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. Galatians 6:4 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading 2 Thessalonians 3:11-12 (Nkjv)
[11] or we hear that there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner, not working at all, but are busybodies.
[12] Now those who are such we command and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and eat their own bread.
Message:
Many teenagers dream of living a luxurious life that involves driving the best cars, using the latest gadgets, and enjoying comfort and convenience.
However, many of them are lazy and refuse to work. They find it easier to make positive confessions rather than commit to diligence and focus on their studies, house chores, or responsibilities in the church.
When you study the Bible, you’ll notice that everyone God used was called from a place of responsibility.
For example, Gideon was busy at his winepress, Deborah was studying and teaching under a palm tree, Peter was fishing, and Matthew was collecting taxes on behalf of the government. This shows that God values diligence.
My dear child, this year, I encourage you to move beyond fantasies and confessions take action!
When you focus on your work, you honor God, develop discipline, and make a positive contribution to your community.
Let people see your good works and glorify God.
Action Point:
Create a timetable for your daily activities to track your productivity and identify idle moments that can be utilised more effectively.
HYMN 65: REVIVE THY WORK, O LORD
1 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
Thy mighty arm make bare;
speak with the voice that wakes the dead,
and make Thy people hear.
Refrain:
Revive Thy work, O Lord,
while here to Thee we bow;
descend, O gracious Lord, descend!
O come and bless us now.
2 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
now let us thirst for Thee;
and hung’ring for the bread of life
may all our spirits be. [Refrain]
3 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
exalt Thy precious name;
and, by the Holy Ghost, our love
for Thee and Thine inflame. [Refrain]
4 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
give pow’r unto Thy word;
grant that Thy blessed gospel may
in living faith be heard. [Refrain]
5 Revive Thy work, O Lord,
and give refreshing show’rs;
the glory shall be all Thine own,
the blessing, Lord, be ours. [Refrain]
