Title: Job Prayed
Memorize: And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before. Job 42:10 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Job 42: 7-10 (Nkjv)
[7] And so it was, after the Lord had spoken these words to Job, that the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends, for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.
[8] Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, go to My servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and My servant Job shall pray for you. For I will accept him, lest I deal with you according to your folly; because you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.”
[9] So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the Lord commanded them; for the Lord had accepted Job.
[10] And the Lord restored Job’s losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.
Message:
The Bible tells us that Job endured unimaginable suffering; he lost his wealth, health, and family.
However, despite his trials, he remained faithful to God and refused to curse Him.
Today’s Bible reading tells us that when Job’s friends wrongly accused him of sin, God rebuked them, and instead of becoming bitter, he prayed for them.
His prayer demonstrated forgiveness and compassion, showing that his heart aligned with God’s grace.
Job’s life has taught me that God can restore us when we pray for other people, even those who have wronged us.
This helps us to maintain our faith and integrity, even in adversity.
My dear child, if anyone has treated you badly in life, I want to encourage you to forgive them and pray for them.
There is great power in forgiveness and intercession.
Action Point:
Has anyone hurt you badly? Pray for him or her today.
HYMN 64: WHEN UPON LIFE’S BILLOWS YOU ARE TEMPEST TOSSED
1 When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings,.name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Chorus
Count your blessings,.name them one by one;
Count your blessings,.see what God hath done;
Count your blessings,.name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
2 Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, ev’ry doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.
3 When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings, money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
4 So, amid the conflict, whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
