Title: Nothing Without Him
Memorize: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, 2 Corinthians 3:5 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Proverbs 3:5-6 (Nkjv)
[5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
[6] In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Message:
Many times, when you listen to the testimonies of some people, you will hear them glorifying themselves. They take the shine away from God and give all the credit to their efforts. In Philippians 3:3-7, Paul listed his status and achievements. However, he added in verse 7: *”But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.”* Today’s Bible reading says: *”Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”*
Beloved, if you want to experience God’s goodness, then you must not lean on your own understanding. You must accept that you cannot do anything without Him. You must get to the point where you can say that it is in Him you live, move and have your being (Acts 17:28). You must always remember the words of Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 3:5: *”Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God”*
Prayer Point:
Without God, you are nothing.
HYMN 10 – O GOD, OUR HELP IN AGES PAST
1. O God, our help in ages past
Our hope for years to come
Our shelter from the stormy blast
And our eternal home.
2. Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure
Sufficient is Thine arm alone
And our defence is sure.
3. Before the hills in order stood
Or earth received her frame
From everlasting Thou art God
To endless years the same.
4. A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone
Short as he watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.
5. Time, like an ever-rolling stream
Bears all its sons away
They fly forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the opening day.
6. O God, our help in ages past
Our hope in years to come
Be thou our guard while trouble last
And our Eternal home.
