Title: Lasting Impact
Memorize: For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Luke 12:34 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading: Matthew 6:19-21 (Nkjv)
[19] “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal;
[20] but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
[21] For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Message:
n today’s world, it is easy to get carried away with the fleeting things of life, thereby forgetting the things that truly matter.
For children of God, the things that truly matter are serving God and spreading the gospel of Christ. These are lasting investments which the Lord is interested in.
The gospel of Jesus Christ got to Africa and other continents because the early apostles gave their all to preach the gospel around the world.
Many of them were severely persecuted, even to the point of death. They served the Lord with all their hearts and preached the gospel everywhere they went.
Child of God, what are you doing for your Father now that you are still young and agile?
If you are not doing anything for God, I encourage you today to serve Him with all your heart and might because it is an investment that truly lasts.
Rather than investing in temporary things like gadgets, accessories, social media followers, fashion, latest trends, et cetera, you should invest in personal evangelism, participating in evangelistic outreaches, giving to the less privileged, paying your tithe regularly, and obeying God at all times.
Key Point:
Heavenly investments bring eternal rewards.
HYMN 10: I’M PRESSING ON THE UPWARD WAY
1 I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Refrain:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s table land;
A higher plane than I have found;
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
2 My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Tho’ some may dwell where these abound,
My pray’r, my aim is higher ground.
3 I want to live above the world,
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.
4 I want to scale the utmost height,
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till Heav’n I’ve found,
Lord, lead me on to higher ground.
