Title: STOP THE PROCRASTINATION
MEMORIZE: Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids. Proverbs 6:4
BIBLE READING ECCLESIASTES 11:3-4
[3]If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.
[4]He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.
MESSAGE
Procrastination is a bad habit that makes you postpone a task to a later time. It makes one avoid responsibilities and robs one of a great destiny.
Most times you procrastinate a task, you won’t get it done eventually. There are always consequences to procrastinating.
According to the Bible text, if you keep waiting for the perfect time, you will get nothing done.
For example, instead of reading during the day, you postpone it till the evening because you want to play.
When the evening comes, you will become tired from playing and eventually end up not reading.
Thus, it is best to perform tasks at the appropriate time and rest or play later.
Like the industrious ants in Proverbs 6:6-8, you should be very proactive in doing the right things.
Make hay while the sun shines because the evening is coming where your reward for labour will pay off.
KEY POINT
You get nothing done by procrastinating.
HYMN
HYMN 8 – FORTH IN YOUR NAME, O LORD, I GO
1. Forth in your name, O Lord, I go,
My daily labor to pursue,
You only, Lord, resolved to know
In all I think or speak or do.
2. The task your wisdom has assigned
Here let me cheerfully fulfill;
In all my work your presence find,
And prove your good and perfect will.
3. You may I set at my right hand,
Whose eyes my inmost secrets view,
And labor on at your command
And offer all my work to you.
4. Help me to bear your easy yoke
In ev’ry moment watch and pray,
And still to things eternal look
And hasten to that glorious day.
5. Then with delight may I employ
All that your bounteous grace has given,
And run my earthly course with joy,
And closely walk with you in heaven.
