Title: Prayer Produces Comfort
Memorize: “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; he has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; Isaiah 61:2 (Nkjv)
Bible Reading Isaiah 61:1-3 (Nkjv)
[1] “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; he has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
[2] To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn,
[3] To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Message:
The Lord Jesus already told us that in this world, we would have tribulations, but we will definitely overcome because He has given us victory. However, there are some trials that end up in complete losses.
This is not to say that God does evil, but He sometimes permits things to happen because He wants to test our love for Him. In such situations, He is yet unquestionable; He doesn’t leave us comfortless.
Are you presently mourning the loss of a loved one? Did you fail an examination? Do you feel cheated over any of your fundamental human rights? My dear child, brace up and pray.
Satan doesn’t want your joy to be full and you must not allow him to steal your joy. One of my sons in the Lord used to say: “You may have lost something, but God is the reason you have not lost everything.”
The more you pray, the more comforted you’ll be over the situation, and you’ll feel reassured of God’s love.
Action Point:
Ask the Holy Spirit to comfort everyone going through hard times now in Jesus’ name.
HYMN 13 – PASS ME NOT, O GENTLE SAVIOUR
1. Pass me not, O gentle Saviour,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
CHORUS
Saviour Saviour,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
2. Let me, at Thy throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief;
Kneeling there in deep contrition,
Help my unbelief.
3. Trusting only in Thy merit
Would I seek Thy face
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.
4. Thou, the spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me.
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in heaven but Thee
